Apple Green Chalk Turquoise and Pink Coral Fringed Necklace
This is not true turquoise, but a form of chalk that is found with turquoise, which -- once it has been stabilized with polyresin -- resembles its scarcer cousin in many ways.
It has a similar matrix to natural turquoise, and it polishes as beautifully, too.
I've taken a large (roughly 1-3/4 x 1-1/4 inch) nugget for my focal point, and made a fringe of polished apple green chalk turquoise nuggets and flat teardrops, along with pink coral and mother of pearl beads.
The longest fringe ends 3" below the focal.
The same beads appear in the approximately 19-1/2" strand.
In both the fringe and the strand, the larger beads are spaced with the tiniest of iridescent topaz glass seed beads.
The clasp is a charming sterling silver floral motif hook set.
This absolutely SPECTACULAR necklace is from SPARKLE PLENTY, of course.
